Is Lim and the DAP for or against the use of the Sedition Act? The people are confused. As the chief minister and DAP supremo, he should not practice double standard.

Penang Gerakan Youth has hit out at DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng for practicing double standard at his whims and fancies and to suit his taste.
Its secretary H’ng Chee Wey said Lim had recently made a suggestion, asking the police to investigate under the Sedition Act against those spreading rumours through SMS that the state government had given a directive that presentation of aids to the Muslim poor should only be held in Chinese temples.
“Is Lim and the DAP for or against the use of the Sedition Act? The people are confused. As the chief minister and DAP supremo, he should not practice double standard,” said H’ng in a statement.
H’ng, who is also Gerakan Youth deputy secretary-general, said in the past, DAP Youth leaders had also asked the authorities to use the Sedition Act against some quarters.
H’ng reminded Lim that on Oct 17 this year at a function, Lim made a pledge that if the Pakatan Rakyat (which comprises DAP, PKR and PAS) formed the federal government, it would abolish the 1984 Printing and Publishing Act, the ISA and the Sedition Act.
“At the 15th DAP national delegates conference, Lim had also made a promise that DAP would review, abolish all draconian laws, including the Sedition Act,” said H’ng.
H’ng said another incident of Lim practicing double standard was when he wanted to declassify the State Exco minutes on land conversation approval for a project in Farquhar Street.
“However, until today, Lim has yet to say he will declasify the Exco minutes on the Kampung Buah Pala deliberations, though he did admit that the issue was discussed during his EXCO meetings.”
