Penang Gerakan Youth lambasted Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for trying to mislead the nation by saying that the PR government would abolish the ISA, and the Printing and Publications Act, if it gained federal power.

Penang Gerakan Youth chief Oh Tong Keong said Lim was not telling the truth when he said that PR, if gained power at federal level, would allow “a real freedom of speech for the country.”

“Lim has bluffed the people of Penang when he said he advocated freedom of speech. In actual fact, Lim has done the reverse. Until today, after several months, he is still boycotting the New Straits Times and Utusan Malaysia because the two newspapers refuse to publish everything he says,” said Oh in a statement.

On Saturday, during the Penang Press Club’s annual dinner, Lim had said that If PR gained federal power, they would abolish ISA, Printing and Publications Act and allow Malaysians a real freedom of speech.

Oh said Lim was fond of saying one thing and doing the reverse.
