Penang Gerakan Youth is shocked that a house buyer has filed a report with the Tribunal for Homebuyers’ Claims against Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who is PDC chairman.

Penang Gerakan Youth Secretary by Hng Chee Wey said the suit raised the question of competency and ability of Lim with his CAT (competency, accountability and transparent)’s state government slogan, in handling the case.

“What the house buyer needs is a solution to the frequent leaks in his Penang Development Corporation (PDC) low-cost flat. By allowing the case to go to the tribunal may affect the integrity and credibility of Lim as Chief Minister,” said Hng in a statement.

Hng Chee Wey said it could be the state government’s bureaucracy or red tape that caused the case to be unresolved.

Hng said the house buyer had also approached the state government, several Pakatan Rakyat MPs and State Assemblymen several times for help but to no avail.

He said the state government had apparently turned a deaf ear to resolve problems faced by the people.

Soon Lean Huat, 37, and his wife Tan Lean Eng, 38, a housewife, jointly filed the complaint at the tribunal office in Seberang Jaya, as owners of the flat in Lebuh Nipah 3, Sungai Nibong, Bayan Lepeas.

Soon had said he filed the report under the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Act 1966, on the advice of Lim’s political secretary Ng Wei Aik, after failing to get the attention of several state assemblymen.
