Gerakan is confident that Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas will continue to help Penang and the people progress and meet the challenges ahead.

In congratulating Abdul Rahman for the extension of another four-year-term, Penang Gerakan Chairman Dato’ Dr Teng Hock Nan said Abdul Rahman “is the unifier for the people of Penang. “His stewardship and experiences are greatly needed and appreciated by the people.”

Abdul Rahman was first appointed as the Seventh Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri on April 17, 2001, and served another tem from May 1, 2005.

Abdul Rahman, 71, received the appointment letter from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
