CAT government is like a circus

Penangites expect a better delivery system but what they see now is confusion and contradictions because of the power play by DAP and PKR leaders.

The Pakatan Rakyat state government in Penang is like a circus, with Members of Parliament (MPs) openly criticizing the behaviour of Penang Municipal Councilors, assemblymen interfering in the duties of local councilors and in turn local councilors complaining against them at a Local Government Forum in Penang on Tuesday.

Teh Leong Meng, chairman of Penang Gerakan organization bureau, said such antics would not benefit the people and were making the state a “laughing stock”.

“Penangites expect a better delivery system but what they see now is confusion and contradictions because of the power play by DAP and PKR leaders,” said Teh in a statement.

Teh, a former Penang Municipal Councilor, said they have the habit of complaining, accusing and twisting the facts to suite each others’ interests at the expense of the people!

Teh said each MP, State Assemblyman and a local councilor should know their respective roles well. “They should not encroach on each other’s territory at their whims and fancies,” he said, adding they should stick to their roles.

At the forum, Penang Municipal Councillors complained that MPs and State Assemblymen had interfered when they were carrying out their duties.
