Declare all your assets
Press Statement by Kedah Gerakan State Liaison Committee Chairman, Dr Cheah Soon Hai

Gerakan has asked the Kedah State government to declare all the assets of its State Executive Councillors, so the public will know whether they are clean and not corrupted.
Kedah Gerakan chairman Dr Cheah Soon Hai said the Mentri Besar and all State Executive Councillors should take the lead to tell the public the number of properties, assets, and money they have before and after taking office.
“To show they are honest and clean, a good way is to let the people know whether there is any abuse of power or corrupt practice,” said Cheah in a statement.
Cheah said since the March 2008 General Election, Kedah people had not seen new developments in the state but “problems here and there.”
He said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had announced the state would declare the assets of all State Exco members but so far, there was a report of their tax forms.
“These tax forms just show their income but not the number of properties they have,” said Cheah, adding it was only a partial declaration.
