Having a Chinese version of his website, 1Malaysia.com.my, is consistent with the Prime Minister’s emphasis to encourage respectful and fair dialogue on the country’s future, said Wanita Gerakan National Deputy Chief Ng Siew Lai.

In a statement, Ng said it was also in line with Najib’s view to have a vibrant, free and informed media.

“When Malaysia is moving towards becoming a developed nation, we need to mould an informed and a knowledgeable society,” said Ng.

Ng said Najib had also shown his seriousness in wanting to foster greater interaction with the people. “We hope his website will include other languages such as Tamil and Dayak.”

The Chinese version comes barely a week after Najib became Prime Minister and is to enable the Chinese community to understand the 1Malaysia concept and get a clearer picture of the new government’s policy.
