Gerakan tells Kayveas to stop harping and get over the matter

Gerakan will never ever smear or discredit the good name or reputation of our fellow comrades or parties in Barisan Nasional as the act is completely against the spirit of togetherness and mutual-respect advocated in the coalition

As a stern response to an article covering the interview of PPP President M. Kayveas published earlier today (22 June) in The Malaysian Insiderwhich is the latest in a series of misleading and ungraceful remarks by the PPP President that targeting Gerakan, Gerakan Vice President A. Kohilan Pillay is utterly unimpressed and affronted by his latest political shenanigan.

Kohilan who is also a Senator and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs wants to deliver a solemn reminder to the PPP President that it is advisable for him to mind his own business and stop prying or commenting affairs other than his own party.

“I recall an anonymous quote that says “fake people talk about other people being fake, real people worry about their business and nobody else’s,” which in my opinion truly reflects the disposition showed and could be best adopted as an useful rede or a remonstrance in this case that exhort chivalry and nobility from a senior politician and leader of the society,” said Kohilan.

Besides, Kohilan also explains that Gerakan had in the past few months clarified on the matter through some senior party leaders such as Deputy President Dato’ Chang Ko Youn, Vice President Dato’ Mah Siew Keong and Wanita Chief Dato’ Tan Lian Hoe. Therefore, He holds that it is superfluous for Kayveas to keep the abuzz ongoing by incessantly harping on the matter. Conversely, there are more important issues for him to pay his attention for the sake of his own party.

“In adherence to this notion, Gerakan will neither question nor interfere openly the affairs of other component parties in Barisan Nasional. More importantly, Gerakan will never ever smear or discredit the good name or reputation of our fellow comrades or parties in Barisan Nasional as the act is completely against the spirit of togetherness and mutual-respect advocated in the coalition,” added Kohilan, who is also Selangor Gerakan Chairman.

As one of the leaders in Gerakan, Kohilan wants to remind Kayveas that his thoughtless remarks and constant instigation in the mass media have enraged the Gerakanist damaging the ties between the two parties. He sincerely advices Kayveas to stop harping and get over the matter and be more conscious and responsible by opting internal channel in Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting to voice his views instead of lambasting critics or commenting flippantly in the public.
