Racism must not exist in schools

Penang Gerakan strongly condemns the principal of a school in Bukit Selambau, Kedah, for his racial discriminating remarks.
Penang Gerakan Secretary Ong Thean Lye said in a statement that principals as educators should be responsible to be role models of racial harmony and integration.
The saddening comment from the head of school is unacceptable and discriminates Chinese ethnic students. This shows the unbecoming qualities of the said principal and that part of the senior educators are still having an outdated racist mindset.
Ong demands that the Ministry of Education treats this matter seriously, and take the necessary disciplinary actions against this irresponsible principal. “Racism must not exist in schools, the people sees the government as serious in its 1Malaysia concept,” added Ong.
