The Youth and Wanita wings of Gerakan have come out strongly to condemn Nasir, for his racist and provocative statement which can derail the 1Malaysia concept.

They said Nasir had done the reverse, instead of helping Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to promote his 1Malaysia concept to all Malaysians.

“Instead of emphasizing on unity and racial harmony, Nasir has sung a different tune which touches on racial sensitivities,” said Gerakan Youth secretary-general Dr Dominic Lau.

Lau said Nasir’s quick resignation from his post as Special Officer to the Prime Minister, had showed that Najib would not tolerate anyone to derail his 1Malaysian concept.

Wanita Gerakan secrerary-general Jayanthi Devi Balaguru said it was shameful of Nasir to have uttered such horrendous, mean and seditious words against fellow Malaysians.

“It is demeaning to belittle, degrade and humiliate in the name of race and gender. Hurling allegations of “flesh trade” at fellow Malaysian mothers and wives and calling fellow Malaysians beggars with threats of revoking citizenships is not the way a fellow Malaysian speaks.

She further stressed that, regardless of where our parents came from, all of us are now born, raised and lived here, we are all “Anak Malaysia” and should not be belittle as “pendatang”, “beggars” etc!
