Penang Gerakan has extended its sympathy to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and his family over the online allegations involving his 16-year-old son and a girl in the same school.
Penang Gerakan vice-chairman Ong Thean Lye said the allegations were despicable, unsubstantiated as well as against the spirit of fair play and ethics.
“We do not condone such an act of making false allegations, particularly on children of politicians. Please do not drag family or children into politics,” Ong said in a statement.
Ong was commenting on the online circulation of two photographs purportedly that of Lim’s son and a girl.
Lim had refuted the allegations, describing them as a form of “gutter politics”. It was alleged that the boy was transferred out of his school following an offence, which Lim called “barbaric lies”.
