Gerakan Youth is shocked and surprised that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has so swiftly jumped up to challenge Gerakan president and Penang Barisan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon to expose about Pakatan Rakyat state government’s weaknesses.
Gerakan Youth deputy chief Oh Tong Keong said Dr Koh, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of National Unity and Performance Management, only stated on Sunday that Penang Barisan Nasional would unveil a few “surprises” in March as part of the coalition’s strategy to prepare for the next general elections.
“Within a day, Lim is asking Dr Koh to say what he has to say now and don’t wait until after March. Gerakan Youth will like to advise the DAP secretary-general to be patient and wait for the revelations from Dr Koh,” said Oh in a statement.
“We BN & Gerakan do not need to follow the time table & agenda of LGE, we have our own strategy,” Oh added.
Lim had on Monday said there was no need to wait until March.
Oh, who is also Penang Gerakan Youth chief, said Gerakan Youth was surprised that Lim seemed unable to sleep well when Dr Koh mentioned about BN’s “surprises”.
“Lim is arrogant and is always kiasu. As to Tang Hiap Ju’s case, Lim should remember that he and Dr Koh had had a public debate on the matter and everything was revealed then. Lim should take a re-look at the video recording of the debate,” said Oh, adding that Lim’s bringing up Tang’s case again only showed that he is always fond of singing old tunes.Oh said the DAP-led Penang government should change its CAT slogan of competency, accountability and transparency to ‘complaining, accusing and twisting’.
He said Lim is also good at playing tai chi and always misleading the people when there is a problem.
