There is no Gerakan Batu Kawan Branch, says Mohan

Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia does not have a “Batu Kawan Branch” in Penang and the question of it having 5,000 Indian members does not arise at all, said Penang Gerakan Liaison Committee member A. Mohan.

He said a claim by a party member, Sivaperumal, that he would lead 5,000 Indian members out of the branch this month and join the soon-to-be launched P Uthayakumar’s Human Rights Party (HRP) as reported in online portal MalaysiaKini “is not true and misleading”.

According to MalaysiaKini, Sivaperumal claimed himself as Batu Kawan branch chief.

Mohan, who is also the Barisan Nasional coordinator for Batu Kawan, made this denial during a durian party organised by Gerakan Nibong Tebal Division on Sunday.

Mohan said though Gerakan suffered a major defeat during the 12th General Elections, Indians members in the party are still loyal.

He urged all party members to stay united, face the challenges ahead and fight for the interest of the people.

Malaysiakini simply publish statements that are questionable, can consider taking legal action against them.  In today’s Malaysiakini, BM version said Gerakan Youth will attend massive protest of ISA, is it true?

2 Gerakan Youth member 13 Jul 2009, 6:55 PM

I just read the malaysiakini article.
I think the legal head of gerakan youth is an idiot.
Why do such a protest? Does he want publicity for his personal interest?
Did he apply for a permit to do this gathering?

I believe in the end, it would make gerakan youth national look stupid. And manipulated by the pakatan rakyat.

Should think before making stupid statements.

About the land issue, how big is the land that swap with the kg Pala which was used for extension of high court and how much it worth?

Andy will put gerakan into trouble if what was written is right. What’s the party stand?

I believe PM is serious into reform which will include the amendment to ISA. As long as it was not abuse to simply put someone in Kamunting, people will not make an issue out of it. We may still need it one day for national security purpose. Of course, i also don’t agree it is used for political purposes. I don’t think anyone does. But how about terrorism? Today in most of the country the war is against terrorist rather than against another country. Singapore, Thailand and many other countries also have one form or another, law like this for national security purposes. Who know we may need it one day to save our country!

5 wisely 13 Jul 2009, 9:33 PM

Why demo? Even Uthayakumar now form a political party! I think its a progress. Better than demo on the road. Use political process that is thru election and votes to change thing. More rational. It’s definitely better to discuss and negotiate than demo!
Engage the minister or PM in intelectual discussion to present our view is, i think much better than to demo even if it cannot get thru!

Can someone please send a message to gerakan national youth that “Malaysia does not need another stupid demostration”.
It seems that gerakan youth national just don’t have the brains.

8 gerakan member 13 Jul 2009, 11:42 PM

Demostration…..?????

Are those kids in national youth got problem in their head?
Our country need a peaceful environment.
If not happy about ISA, just send a letter to PM or do a memorandum. That would clearly send a clear message to PM.
Gerakan youth have not done any fruitful activity over the past 1 year. Suddently, come out with such a damaging statement?
I feel sorry for gerakan youth. It was dying….now straight into the coffin!

Uyghur Congress Appeals For Help

The World Uyghur Congress appeals to the people and governments in the free world as well as human rights organizations around the world to take urgent action to stop the ethnic massacre in East Turkistan!

According to the latest news the World Uyghur Congress obtained directly from East Turkistan, Uyghurs in Urumchi are not only facing brutal massacre at the hands of the Chinese armed forces and police but also from Chinese civilians who have started to engage in a mass slaughter of the Uyghurs.

Chinese civilians, using clubs, bars, knives and machetes, are killing the Uyghurs throughout East Turkistan. They are storming the university dormitories, Uyghur residential homes, workplaces and organizations, and massacring children, women and elderly.

According to the latest news the World Uyghur Congress obtained about one hour ago, one Uighur young man was mutilated on Dongbeilu. A Uighur woman who was carrying a baby in her arms was mutilated along with her infant baby on Huanghelu. Over 1,000 ethnic Han Chinese armed with knives and machetes marched into Xinjiang Medical University and engaged in a mass killing of the Uyghurs. Two Uyghur female students were beheaded; their heads were placed on a stake on the middle of the street. In Railroad factory, Ergong subdivision, ethnic Han Chinese began searching for Uighurs and upon finding them, killed them in mass numbers. The World Uyghur Congress headquarters has received many disturbing news reports stating the above.

Chinese police and security forces are not taking any action against this barbaric and gratuitous violence against the Uyghurs. The Chinese government is not taking any measures or precautions to safeguard Uyghur civilians from this mob violence and these brutal massacres. Uighurs living in residential areas densely-populated by ethnic Han Chinese are in grave danger. Chinese police and security forces are taking no action against such deadly violence against the Uyghur people.

At the moment, ethnic Han Chinese are phoning World Uyghur Congress headquarters in Munich, Germany and voicing threats against the WUC leadership.

We appeal to the United Nations, the United Sates of America, European countries and NATO forces who defend justice and world peace to intervene immediately, send troops and make all efforts to ensure peace and stability in East Turkistan and save the helpless Uyghurs from this violent bloodshed.

The situation in East Turkistan is declining rapidly. Scenes from streets, shops and residential areas are beyond anyone’s imagination. With each passing minute another innocent Uyghur life is stolen!

Useless, chicken and no ball penang gerakan youth only dare to bark and demo in front of CM new house and not brave like their KL/Wilayah national youth that dare to demo against the evil ISA law.

Rakyat penang hv seen your gerakan youth true colour and u all still expect penang voters to keep on supporting those bunch of useless gerakan youth ??

forever rest in peace gerakan youth…

11 wisely 14 Jul 2009, 12:29 PM

I think whether we, the youth have ball or not is not judge by doing or daring to demo on the road but in intellectual engagement and good governance. Those type of ‘heroes’ are good in centuries earlier when nations are still at war or during primitive time. We are not living in those ages anymore. Today, in civilise country, its all through diplomatic ways - talk, discussions, intellectual engagement, sound and good reasoning, etc. Demo is definately not the way! Anyway, at the end of the day, we all have a vote in our hand. If gov of the day is not listening to the rakyat, u and i know very well what will be the outcome at PRU13!

12 penangites 14 Jul 2009, 2:58 PM

wise guy,

i very agree on your last line…

13 james 14 Jul 2009, 4:06 PM

the issue is not about amending ISA or abolishing it. Everyone knows (including government) that it is time to amend ISA or abolish it. That is why Hishamuddin came out a few weeks ago to say that government is going to amend it.

The real reason why people is criticising gerakan youth is because the method they use to send the message to the government by demostration. For your info, people in KL hates demostration. It is not good for the people here.
That’s why I don’t blame the people for saying that the person from gerakan youth (who is a bureau head) just want publicity.

They could have just send a letter or memorandum and do a press conference. Why does he need to join in with GMI?

Anyway, that person from gerakan youth should think 10 times first before making any more press statement. Don’t bring down the whole Gerakan for his own interest. People hate demostration. Only the people who do not live in KL likes demostration.

14 jerry 14 Jul 2009, 6:35 PM

I was shock when i read malaysiakini.
I thought it was just something twisted from gerakan youth.
But NO….i was actually some stupid youth bureau head making some silly statement.
People don;t want anymore demostration.
Dato Seri Hishamuddin already say going to review ISA law.
But this person want to be a hero. But end up look stupid.

15 OOI 14 Jul 2009, 7:55 PM

Wisely I agree to you that our nation still need ISA.. we are still a “Developing country”

16 wisely 14 Jul 2009, 8:21 PM

From what i can see Najib 100 days in power, he has done a lot to reform and to hear the rakyat voice and give us what we, the rakyat want and ask for!

Actually ISA is not a very big issue today since all the HINDRAF detainees have been release. Believe me, it still has its use one day. The important thing is don’t abuse it. Only then it will become an issue. Futhermore, now gov is going to amend it.

I think the attention now should be on crime fighting which include fighting corruption, ragut and mat rempit, ah long, police abuse, death in custody and not ISA. Give this issue on ISA a break. To me, crime fighting is the last issue that must be tackle and tackle fast by gov.

In 100 days, Najib has done it all. Now its time for implementation and we should help gov in the process to check and monitor the whole process. I think that what gerakan should be doing instead of demo on the road.

Our Tan sri is in charge of the KPI and according to him by next June the first evaluation will be make and make public. He is the minister in charge to help our PM to monitor all Kementerian performance and i think the whole of Gerakan should stand behind him and help him to ease this burden and not to demo on the road.

As i said earlier, rakyat want performance, that is, the delivery and not empty slogan and promises. The survival of BN and Gerakan rely much on this - that is giving what the rakyat want and meeting their needs - people first, performance now and not demo.

As in the our press statement today, we know it is very hard for PR to perform simply because they are 3 parties, each having their own agendas to persue. Their common meeting point is just the vote from the rakyat. Can they deliver? How much have they deliver? How many promises they made have been fulfilled? We know not many and they can’t! They don’t have quality people and they definitely don’t have the experience. We have. To run a state is not so simple or easy as they thought and that why they fight, quarrel and point fingers among themselves. Look at the qualification of their ADUN and MP - changing and keep changing thru by elections! They just don’t have the right people.

That the advantage, we, in BN has and that what we want to tell the rakyat. How? by deliver to them what they want-thru our performance and deliverance. PM has given us a good start, a fresh start and many rakyat are excited. So why don’t we as BN component party and its members help our PM to deliver the promises made to the rakyat - all- all promises that he had made - our survival lies here and not in demo! I think this is what the people want - delivery and not demo!

Don’t you all the gerakan members see the sun rising again on our side! Rakyat are excited! Don’t disappoint them again like our former PM did. Its not easy, friends to get the rakyat excited again with BN but we see its happening. We just left 1000 days to deliver all these promises or left voted out!

Come on guys, don’t u see the bright shining sun smiling at us again. I have faith in our PM Najib. He turn the table around in 100 days! If he can sucessfully fight the crime and raise the income of the rakyat, who in the world would care for ISA.

We should stay focus. All of us should. PM give us a special gift by putting our Tan Sri there. Its to help Gerakan to raise again. He is wise. He know who and where to put each and everyone so that to help all the component parties to raise up again! I see it. Do u?

If we see this, do u still want to demo? Where’s the insight of the leaders? What do u see? I am excited! are u? u should, we all should! i don’t see the place for demo with this in view…

17 Atila 15 Jul 2009, 1:10 AM

Why demo infront of CM’s new house? This is the lousiest backwards primitive political tactics in getting rakyat to support Gerakan i have ever heard.

Gerakan youth should go demo infront of the mansions and 3-story bungalows with 5-7 cars onwed by fat fat UMNO Divisions and other BN components key people in Penang. Sickly. To name one…from which Heaven Roslan S. can afford that mansion?
Gerakan Youth forget meh?

Sure that this gerakan youth has nothing to do to be on the road and surely is braindead. I wonder who the stupid mastermind behind this demo. Already was cancer, chemo now straight to the cemetary. How to entrust votes to these goons next GE?

If so braindead,i propose Gerakan Youth begin with look into racial religion harmony-respects in Penang. Not organizing hari raya open house….it is more than just eat and drink ok. Think.

18 penangites 15 Jul 2009, 1:53 AM

Atila,

u must be out of your mind to ask gerakan youth to demo in front of their Master UMNO mansions or palace. Dont say demo, they dont even dare to speak out 1 single word. If they do, they wont defeat so terrible on previous election.

Now their national youth want to show support to abolish ISA and penang chicken gerakan youth is scare to death, worry will provoke their master. They do bark loud in front of CM house. Perhaps they know YB Lim will not ask FRU to treat them tear gas and water cannon but their master UMNO will if they show support for abolish ISA ...

Gerakan youth now break into 2 camp, 1 support abolish ISA and another not. They cant even hv a same goal and objective on this very simple issue/matter, what can we expect from them? oh yah, one thing sure can, demo in front CM house lead by KL Tan that he do best…

They(gerakan youth) just want to draw the line that they are still their master running dog and not fight for rakyat welfare. Total disappointed.

Penangsite

I am not out of my mind. I know they are “pengecut” when come to MASTERS called UMNO. Thats why i told them to demo at these MASTERS house.

I am a Penangite. Born and breed here.
Its nauseating to have not just the youth gerakan but gerakan as well facilitating UMNO’s greed past decades. That why i said that person’s mansion.
Have you seen it?

Off course the youth wing cant have one goal,
one is influenced by one with UMNO-culture and the other non-UMNO culture. Guess who has allowed UMNO’s culture seeped into the Youth?

20 Atila 15 Jul 2009, 4:54 AM

haha…haha..

thank god PR took over Penang otherwise you would have 5-6 umno penang millionaires in the making each term.

21 penangites 15 Jul 2009, 11:56 AM

yes, exactly, penang gerakan is know and well aware of their master abuse of power on state resources and corruption but choose to close one eye and keep quite.

So stupid gerakan, helping and protecting their master and their cronies making tons of wealth of state fund and rakyat money from all source but their master slap back gerakan in return. Till now they still practice what they do previously by keep protecting their master even after rakyat hv teach them lesson on previous GE. Gerakan is digging their own grave, cant blame UMNO and rakayt. So pity useless gerakan.

Please ask the Central Committee to sack the biro head which ask for the demostration in KL.
That person got no brains.
If he want to bantah ISA,just send a memorandum with 20 people to the PM or hishamuddin office. Why need demostration. Bodoh punya ketua biro!

If YAB Tn. Lim G.E. is only a successful TAUKE, famous & brilliant SINGER, or a well-groomed STARDOM, no matter how luxurious & magnificent his residence is, people have no right to heed, query or interfere.

The trouble is, YAB Tuan is the CM of Penang, an employee of Rakyat (Boss), therefore Rakyat have every right, and is also their responsibility to know & check on his rented & newly renovated luxurious bungalow.

It’s his responsibility to respond to the query of Gerakan Youth, NOT to avoid it.  If so, it only reveals that his action is contradicting and making a mockery of his highly-publicized & cherished CAT policy.

As we all know, DAP had been defeated & rejected by Rakyat since its inception 18.03.1966. However, they could keep on struggling for so many years till 308 last year. Why not Gerakan?

Gerakan had been in power for so many decades, defeated only last year. It’s only a temporary set back, for the party to reassess, to over-haul & to reorganise.

I’m quite positive, with its capable, dedicated & highly professionally committed leaders & members, the party will soon be on its right track again, moving forward to its greater success & triumph!

A truely successful man is the one who has been fallen down, but able to crawl up.  Fallen down, crawl up.  Fallen down again, crawl up again, NEVER give up or say “die”; “doomed”; “useless”; or “get into coffin” etc. So is a political party - Gerakan.

25 wisely 15 Jul 2009, 8:55 PM

U say it well, Xiao Ah Mao! Satu hati!

About the demo, i think they already decided on it. Let’s just wait and see. Andy did explain it further, i see his point. Just wait and see it’s outcome! Satu hati! I rest my case. All the best to those who will participate in the demo. God be with u!

26 jason 15 Jul 2009, 11:53 PM

I hope gerakan youth don’t participate in any demostration.

Even if it is a friendly gathering, it may lead to violence. I think it is wrong to support any demostration. There are other better ways to voice out against ISA.
