Penang Gerakan has urged the state government to play its important role in disseminating the correct and right information to the public.

Penang Gerakan publicity, information and communication bureau chief Dr Thor Teong Gee said media agencies should also continue to play their role in providing the right and accurate information to the people, without fear or favour.

“As we observe Press Freedom Day today (May 3), we must always take cognizance that the mass media plays a very important role in society and the people must be told the truth. Confusing reports and slanting news information should be avoided at all costs,” said Dr Thor.
