A Penang Gerakan leader has chided Parti Cinta Malaysia vice-president Huan Cheng Guan for “being wilful and interfering”, in calling for Penang Gerakan chief Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan to be replaced.

Dr Lim Boon Han, who is a Penang Gerakan vice-chairman, said Huan should know that Dr Teng was duly elected by Gerakan delegates and it would be undemocratic, unethical and morally wrong to go against the wishes of the delegates.

Dr Lim reiterated that Gerakan members and leaders would know what to do to rejuvenate the party.

“Huan should mind his own business. He should stop being a keh po chi (busybody), especially when he has left Gerakan. He should spend more time to take care of his new party,” said Dr Lim in a statement.

Dr Lim, who is also Barisan Nasional coordinator for Bukit Tengah, said Huan should reserve his comment on Gerakan’s internal matters and stop trying to pick up a quarrel with Gerakan.

“Probably, Huan has forgotten that Gerakan has given many people like him good chances to be what they are today,” Dr Lim added.

On Wednesday, Huan said Dr Teng should be replaced if Gerakan was serious about recapturing Penang

He suggested that Gerakan secretary-general Teng Chang Yeow should be made the state chief as “Teng is young and capable of taking on DAP secretary-general and Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and Pakatan Rakyat.
