Seminar: Freedom of Expression

Penang Gerakan Legal and Human Rights’ Bureau, is organizing a human rights’ seminar on freedom of expression on June 17, 2010 (Thursday), 7.30pm, at its headquarters.

The speakers from the Legal and Human Rights’ Bureau will discuss the following topics:

  • What is the freedom of expression

  • Sedition and Sedition Act 1948

  • The protection to Religion and Rulers

  • Media and Printing Presses and Publication Act 1984

  • Is our media free and independent?

    • The seminar will end with an open forum, titled “Should we practice self-censorship?”
