“The Penang’s potential is under estimated,” said Ooi Suan Hoe, who is also the Machang Bubok Gerakan Coordinator, concerned the 290% achievement over forecast.

He said the under forecast may cause labor shortages and wages competition among employers. “Existing infrastructure and its expansion may not enough to cater the need, he added.

“There is only RM2.8B of new investments. We should increase number of investor to reduce risk of dependence on the existing few major players,” he added.

He believes that the achievement is result from both state and federal governments, “As long as it is good for people of Penang,” he added.

“Penang can do better. We have good infrastructures and we are better established,” He said.
