The Prime Minister’s Department and the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor should provide an explanation on the circumstances leading to the resignation of journalist Joshua Wong from NTV7.

Gerakan secretary-general Teng Chang Yeow said since their names had been mentioned by Wong, it was only fair that they should give their side of the story, relating to Wong’s revelation of political interferences.

“The NTV7 management should also provide an explanation on the episode,” said Teng in a statement, adding he did not agree with political interferences.

Teng said he participated in a talk show organized by the NTV7’s Editor’s Time in Penang on March 13. The topic was “Key Performance Indicator – Two years after 308, is Penang getting better?”.

He said it was a platform for both sides of the political divide to articulate on current issues. “I can vouch that there is no racial undertone in NTV7 talk show, Editor’s Time,” he said.
