Dato’ Dr Teng Hock Nan exposed that action’s taken by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to include new conditions in
1. Contract awarded by Penang Development Corporation (PDC) and State Government projects can be terminated by Chief Minister without any reason
2. Planning permissions of development project given by MPPP can be cancelled anytime without any reasons by the Chief Minister
This is a very worrying trend where rule of law is becoming irrelevant and is slowly taken over rule by an individual.
Though Lim Guan Eng tried to justify that this new conditions were included to protect the State interest. If it’s so, the final power should be given by to the tender board or MPPP rather instead of Lim Guan Eng alone!
Dato’ Dr. Teng Hock Nan who is the Penang Gerakan State Chairman said this when officiating a training seminar to 60 party coordinators and activists in Gerakan HQ recently.
He reminded all coordinators and members to change the mindset and act as positive, constructive opposition and to serve the people with sincerity, humility. He also urges them to expose wrong doings and weaknesses of the present government in order to win back the hearts & minds of the people.
