Penang state government announced that the coastal highway from Jelutong Expressway up to Jalan Bayan Lepas will be renamed as Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu. Renaming the highway is commemorate Tun Lim’s contributions to the state.

Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu stretches 17.84 kilometres, connecting Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong (late father of Tun Lim), passing by Komtar, Penang Bridge and Bayan Lepas Industrial Zone; the three testimonies to this great architect of Penang.
