Gerakan Vice President Dato’ Mah Siew Keong today condemns PERKASA Chief, Ibrahim Ali for giving out angpow in white envelope during a Chinese New Year Open House held in Kampung Baru yesterday. Although Dato’ Mah believes that his intention of having a Chinese New Year open house is kind, but the act of giving angpow in white envelope is still very insulting to Chinese.

Dato’ Mah said, “White colour envelopes are reserved for funeral in the Chinese customs, by giving angpow in white envelopes during Chinese New Year which is meant to be a prosperous and joyful festival for Chinese shows that Ibrahim Ali is greatly insensitive and insincere. “

“Being a Member of Parliament and in the politics for so many years, Ibrahim Ali is still so ignorant of the cultures of other races which is why he kept making a lot statements without thinking,” he added.

Dato’ Mah also said that Ibrahim Ali is the kind of leader who tries to hinder Prime Minister Najib’s 1Malaysia effort. He urges Ibrahim Ali to apologize for giving white packets during Chinese New Year and admit his insensitivity even if the act was not done with an evil intention, yet insensitivity and negligence cannot escape as a wrongdoing.
