Gerakan bids final farewell to Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu

Members of Gerakan bid final farewell to party founder and a great statesman in Malaysia, Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu. During Tun’s funeral on Nov 28, the members follows Tun’s hearse from Dewan Sri Pinang to mark Tun’s final journey before he was rested at Batu Gantong.

Our Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak, who arrived at 10.15am with several cabinet ministers, described that Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu will be remembered as a true icon who played a significant role in our nation building and the development in Penang.

Present at the Tun Lim’s state funeral was Gerakan ex-President Sdra Dr Lim Keng Yaik, President Sdra Dr Koh Tsu Koon, Sec-Gen Sdra Teng Chang Yeow, Wanita National Chief Sdri Tan Lian Hoe, Youth National Chief Sdra Lim Si Pin, Wanita Sec-Gen Sdri Jayanthi Devi Balaguru, Youth Sec-Gen Sdra Dr Dominic Lau, Penang state chairman Dr Teng Hock Nan and about 1000 members from various states.

Also as a former Chief Minister of Penang, Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu passed away on 24th November 2010, leaving behind a legacy.

To his grieving family, Tun Lim will always be remembered as a loving husband and a respected father.

To Malaysians, Tun Lim will forever be recognized as an icon who struggled for his multiracial ideology in nation building.

To Penangites, Tun Lim will be fondly remembered by as the Chief Minister which industrialized Penang.

To Gerakan, Tun Lim’s passing is a great loss. Tun Lim will be forever be in our hearts as a founder, a mentor, a gentleman, a committed and resilient leader who strived to bring the party and country forward.
