Gerakan Deputy President Dato’ Chang Ko Youn today slammed the Pakatan Rakyat Government on the issue of banning entertainment centers during the month of Ramadan. The announcement of the removal of the ban on entertainment during the Ramadan by PAS president Hadi Awang is a slap on the face of PAS Kedah, Kedah Menteri Besar, DAP as well as PKR.

Dato’ Chang said, “How can a government policy be changed by a Party President who has no role in the state government at all?”
He also said that DAP has always been criticizing BN and UMNO for making announcements on government policies after BN or UMNO supreme council meetings by the Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister who have at least a role in the government. However, in Kedah fiasco, why is DAP so quiet? The episode only shows the double standard role performed by DAP which do not practice what they preach. Why not the DAP condemning PAS for making official announcement on behalf of the Kedah State which has remained silent?

He also questioned why the decision to lift the ban is not made by the PAS-DAP-PKR Joint Council instead just PAS alone? It shows that DAP is not respected by PAS or Kedah Menteri Besar at all.

Dato’ Chang said, the ban which is still not officially lifted by the Kedah Government, only exposes weaknesses in the opportunistic coalition of PAS-DAP-PKR who do not share common values and policies and it is a time bomb for Malaysian politics if they are ruling the Federal Government.

He said, there is nothing to bond them together ideologically and this is detrimental to the future of Malaysia.
