Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon today says to regard ourselves as Malaysian is consistent with PM Najib’s 1Malaysia spirit that puts inclusiveness and social justice above race and religion Malaysian, would not make us less Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazan, Iban and etc.
Dr Koh further said being Malaysian, would not make us less Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Ibans or etc. As such, DR Koh agreed with his cabinet collegue Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz latest “Malaysian first.” remark which was also not dissimilar with the idea of Bangsa Malaysia as envisioned in Vision 2020. “Malaysia should move forward with 1Malaysia and not to be distracted by old baggages of racial sentiments. We should unite rejecting all types of extremism,” said Tan Sri Dr Koh, who is also the president of Gerakan. Dr Koh said the spirit of “Malaysian first.” was also very much in line with Gerakan’s non-racial political ideology and approach. Gerakan strongly believed that every Malaysian should speak in 1 voice for 1Malaysia, putting Rakyat and Malaysian first. Dr Koh said Nazri’s latest remark clearly resonated with majority of moderate and fair minded Malaysian of all races and religions.- Previous Nazri's "Malaysian first" statement resonates with Rakyat , Gerakan
