Penang Gerakan would like to celebrate Labour Day which falls on Sunday with all the workers in the country and Penang.

We are a labour movement political party and will always be sensitive to the needs of the labour force. We are grateful to the contributions of the labour force in nation-building and we will continue to fight for the rights of the labour, irrespective of race and creed.

Today the labour force in the country, especially in Penang, can be considered to be much better when compared with many other countries. We hope this working together spirit of employer and labour will continue to be symbiotic with each other for the betterment of the country.

However, there is still room for improvement to look after the labour force, for instance the health care, minimum wages and welfare of pensioners etc need to be further looked into and improved upon.
