"Penang Gerakan will work with state government to ensure a conducive investment environment for investors," said Sdra Dr Teng, when he urges the Penang state government to work with federal government.

Penang Gerakan will arrange with Datuk Mah Siew Keong, the newly appointed MATRADE chairman, to visit Penang investors in mid November.
“The economy of Penang remains as main and prioritized focus for Penang Gerakan,” said Penang Gerakan Chairman Sdra Dr Teng Hock Nan.
“Penang economy is reflected by the rakyat’s daily living. People can afford to buy houses and better education for their children if the economy is doing well,” said Sdra Dr Teng.
Sdra Dr Teng also concern about the uncontrolled mushrooming of road side hawkers for the past 2 years. “Mushrooming of hawkers is an indicator of economic slump, apart from declining FDI,” he added when describing the same scenario in year 1986 and 1997.
MIDA statistics also showed drastic decrease in total investments for Penang since 2008. Foreign investment in Penang achieved only RM930 million for the first half of year 2010.
