An Outrageous Resignation

I would like to declare my disappointment over today’s resignation announcement by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)’s, Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin as Penanti assemblyman.
The reasons given out by him for his resignation, in particular to further his studies and to spend more time with his family, are totally unacceptable, (save as for death, illness or other conditions rendering the assemblyman unfit to discharge his duties).
Such an outrageous resignation, including the one at Bukit Selembau (also by PKR assemblyman) would cause a total waste of tax payers’ money and time.
I hope that the Election Commission would look into this matter seriously and take the appropriate steps to propose amendments to existing laws so as to penalize such assemblyman in future.
I also hope that Parti Keadilan Rakyat should be responsible towards the outrageous resignation of their assemblyman and would have the dignity in not fielding a candidate from their party this time. Instead, PKR should allow other party in Pakatan Rakyat i.e. DAP or PAS to field in as Pakatan Rakyat candidate for the Penanti by-election.

Actually for the resignation of the 1st Assist. Chief Minister YB Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin is due to his studies. He would like to continue the studies to the higher level and it’s not a problem.
But then, I really don’t understand people always said that he’s wrong and he should resign together with the state seats.
I want to give some suggestions to Gerakan, all of you must change now! Don’t always keep following and no self opinion. Although Pakatan Rakyat is always being internal quarrel, they are able to solve the problem.
From the passed 407 tri-election, Pakatan Rakyat won 2-1 against Barisan Nasional. This can observe that people want new government! So if Gerakan still want to won back the seats, don’t exactly follow the ‘rules’, you must have your own opinion.
Besides that, you lose not means that you can’t cooperate with present Penang State Government. I think DAP is great to welcome Gerakan cooperate with them. But the point is don’t contribute in UMNO!
The main problem is UMNO. Okay? Anyway, it’s only a suggestion from me! Hope it can help you all. Good luck!

What is wrong with KL Tan? Fairus resign u fire, no resign, u sure fire even worse. No matter what, he choose the right choice to resign. He hv corruption case still going on with MACC. He left so that the seat can be fill by other who can perform n serve the rakyat and the state galvernment.
He choose the right choice & wise choice. Better than your boss who loudly say to whole world that he will resign and responsible for GERAKAN 308 great defeat and yet used back door to enter the Cabinet and yet denied he say that before. Perhaps GERAKKAN member hv selective memory lost like Dr.M, but i still remember what he say on live TV(RTM/NTV7)on 308 that night that he will held responsible & resign, i still remember his sad & miserable look, infront of so many reporters, alone !!! Where is GERAKAN members and supporters that time when your boss need you all the most?? All become missing person after knowing defeat and left yr party leader face the people alone. I shame on all of you, at least he still there to face the people.
After so many defeat in General n by elections, GERAKAN still the same like UMNO, still cant wakeup, cant smell the wind of change and the Tsunami wave. I really worry if GERAKAN still cant react n change, it will becomes history in next General Elections.

Love to see Gerakan comes out with such impressive web site.
I am sure Gerakan will do great in future, especially currently Koh Tsu Koon holding the minister post in Cabinet, which enables him to bring in the constructive inputs to cabinet.
long live Gerakan!

The government must do something to stop this type of wakil rakyat like Fairus…..it makes me sick to see him smile when announcing he will come back in a big way after finishing his studies
