Gerakan Secretary General Teng Chang Yeow today urges the Government to take action against Ibrahim Ali of Perkasa. He said, the Government must take stern action against Ibrahim Ali. The Government must not allow seditious statements to inflict hurt on the nation. A seditious statement is a seditious statement. Whoever makes such statement must face the laws of the nation.

Teng said, Government leaders must stop asking the nation to treat Ibrahim Ali as a clown. The nation must not be asked to regard Ibrahim as representing the minority and therefore, his statement should be ignored. Ibrahim’s statement has gone beyond the acceptable norm. Laws of this country have been passed by Parliament to safeguard the safety and unity of the nation. It would be mockery to the system of justice in the country if Ibrahim Ali is not charged.

“I call on the Minister of Home Affairs to take immediate action against Ibrahim Ali and those who have fanned seditious remarks. Failure to do so would diminish the confidence of the people with the Government.” said Teng.
